While on their way to deliver supplies to an area that had been heavily damaged by the Noto Peninsula earthquake, five Japan Coast Guard crew members were killed and the captain was severely injured.
The five crew members were killed, on Tuesday night, after a large A350, Japan Airlines, collided with their plane on the runway of the Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan.
According to The Yomiuri Shimbun, the Japan Airline plane was landing onto the runway when it collided with the Japanese Coast Guard aircraft which was preparing to take off from the runway.
The Japan Airlines plane had a total of 379 people, 367 passengers and 12 crew members, on board. The Coast Guard plane had a total of 6 people on board.
All 379 people on board the Japan Airlines survive.
